Kaduna bye-election: APC stakeholders demand power shift to Kajuru - Blueprint Newspapers Limited
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state have called for the party’s ticket in the forthcoming Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency bye-election to be zoned to Kajuru local government area of the state.
The group, led by Hon. Markus Zarmai Yari, made the demand at a press conference in Kaduna, arguing that a power shift to Kajuru would promote fairness, equity, and political balance in the constituency, following the death of Hon. Abubakar Adams Ekene, who hailed from Chikun.
“We are passionately appealing to our great party to zone the ticket to Kajuru,” Yari said. This will cement the bond of brotherhood and guarantee wider electoral support across both local governments,” he said.
The stakeholders unanimously endorsed Hon. Fidelix Joseph Bagudu as their preferred candidate, describing him as a seasoned grassroots politician with the capacity to unify the constituency and deliver effective representation at the National Assembly.
They also hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his recent state visit, particularly the commissioning of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital in Millennium City, Kujama, the approval of major infrastructure projects such as the Kaduna Light Rail and the reconstruction of the Birnin Gwari road.
Reaffirming their loyalty, the group declared full support for the re-election bids of President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, noting that their people-centred policies continue to resonate positively across Kaduna State.Page 15 June 30
