Only last month, Justin Bieber was forced to clarify that he and wife

are all good after fans online noticed that he’d unfollowed her on Instagram. Setting the record straight, he wrote on his Instagram story: “Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife. Shit is getting suss out here.” Around the same time, the rumors of them splitting gained momentum.
However, a source told People that “anyone who spends a lot of time with them can tell how in love they are and also how super focused they are on their marriage.”
Now, a month after that, Bieber’s cryptic post has fueled the separation rumors once again. The popstar recently posted a lengthy and cryptic message to his Instagram Story set to the sound of “Free Fallin’” by John Mayer. He started with “Its time to grow up. Changing is about letting go ! Not trying harder! Are you tired of trying to follow all of the rules in hopes to get the results you crave? I’ve found love to be more powerful than rules.”

Admitting that he’s not always “good” at following rules, Justin went on, “u dont need to follow rules to enter into a life of love. U just receive so enter love living! God always grants us love! Its one of his promises! Upon receiving Gods love! U start to change and start following love.”
Justin concluded the post with sentiments about growth and maturity, with the singer advising that “you don’t work to mature,” you “let go to mature.” He wrote, “Today im letting go and remembering the weight isnt on me to change. The weight is on God. So I give all my insecurities and my fears to him this morning. Because I know he gladly takes it. Asking Jesus to genuinely help me with simply the next step today.”
Amidst all these speculations, let’s take a look at Justin and Hailey’s relationship.

Justin and Hailey’s love story started simply and beautifully, with a backstage meeting at NBC’s TODAY show in 2009, thanks to an innocent introduction Hailey’s dad, actor Stephen Baldwin, made between his then 14-year-old daughter and the young pop star. The two shake hands as Hailey shyly says, “Nice to meet you.” Little did they know this encounter would be the first of many.
Then just two years later, in 2011, the two were photographed together on the red carpet at the premiere of his Never Say Never documentary, when Hailey and dad Stephen attended the event.

Following Bieber and Selena Gomez’s very public separation in 2014, Baldwin stepped into the picture and began spending more time with the “Baby” heartthrob. This is when the relationship rumors began to swirl. Justin captioned the photo “NYC with the clown posse.”

It didn’t take long for fans to start speculating that the two might have a stronger bond than they were letting on. However, Justin and Hailey each put the rumors to rest. During an interview with E! News, the model said, “The thing about that is I’ve known him since I was so young, since I was like 13. And we’ve just been good friends over the years, and we have just stayed close, and there’s nothing more to it than that.”
The pop singer piggybacked on Hailey’s sentiment by posting a photo of the two of them to Instagram with the caption, “People are crazy. I’m super single and this is my good friend u would know otherwise.”

The pair took their friendship into the new year, which Justin commemorated with a video posted to Instagram. In the flick, the two chant “Happy New Year” next to each other while fireworks go off in the background. Justin also posted another selfie with Hailey wishing their fans a happy new year.

In 2015, the duo crashed the Chatsworth Charter High School prom in California. Hailey shared a picture of her on the dance floor in a tweet that has since been deleted. The pop star tweeted the school’s account the next day saying, “always wanted to go to prom. Thanks for having me. #promcrasher.”
From soaking up the sun in Miami together to walking around the streets of Beverly Hills together, Bieber and Baldwin kept spending time together.

Relationship rumors resurfaced with full force when Hailey joined Justin and his family on a vacation to Tulum, Mexico. The “Baby” singer documented the trip on Instagram through several posts, including one where he pulls a rubber band off Hailey’s wrist while holding his hair up. In the snap, he goes shirtless, wearing nothing but briefs and basketball shorts, while Hailey wears an oversized T-shirt, itty-bitty shorts, and a trucker hat.

Not just that, Justin and Hailey were spotted getting hot and heavy during Leonardo DiCaprio’s New Year’s Eve party in St. Barts. The pair rang in 2016 with a smooch, and Justin wasn’t shy about sharing the news. A couple of days later, he posted two hot photos from their trip to Instagram.

In early 2016, Hailey confirmed to E! News that she and Justin were romantically involved, but they weren’t ready to put a label on anything yet out of fear of complicating their relationship. She revealed, “We are not an exclusive couple. He’s about to go on tour. Relationships at this age are already complicated, but I don’t really like to talk about it because it’s between me and him.”
Justin reiterated Hailey’s sentiment during an interview with GQ, when he told the publication Hailey is “someone I really love” but he doesn’t “want to be held down by anything.” He adde, “I don’t want to feel like the girl I love is an added responsibility,” he continued. “I know that in the past, I’ve hurt people and said things that I didn’t mean to make them happy in the moment. So now I’m just more so looking at the future, making sure I’m not damaging them. What if Hailey ends up being the girl I’m gonna marry, right? If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it’s always gonna be damaged.”

Justin and Hailey's relationship was short-lived, as they called it quits after just a few months together. Things got icy for the two when Justin unfollowed the model amid his new relationship with Sofia Richie.
A source told People, “Justin unfollowed Hailey on social media, and now all their friends are talking sh*t on Sofia [Richie] and him and how messed up it is.” The source added, “Bieber wasn’t happy about [her friendship with Drake] and so they haven’t really been in touch in a bit. But out of nowhere, Sofia apparently made him unfollow Hailey and now she and her friends are all super upset.”
Justin and Hailey stopped being friends for almost two years. Hailey recently explained this period in their relationship, saying, “[We] went through a long period of time when we weren’t friends. We didn’t speak for quite some time and there was a lot of weirdness that went on.”
Hailey opened up about their breakup during a 2019 interview with Vogue. "Negative things happened that we still need to talk about and work through. 'Fizzled' would not be the right word—it was more like a very dramatic excommunication. There was a period where if I walked into a room, he would walk out."

In June 2018, Justin and Hailey were spotted in Miami looking all kinds of flirty at a church conference. E! reported that the pair have two things in common: “They love to party and they love their church organization.” The source also added that Justin and Hailey had “finally cleared the air and rekindled their friendship and realized they genuinely have a lot of fun together.” The duo was spotted strolling around NYC, where they decided to make faces at the paps together. Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly, “Hailey has always loved Justin and they have been best friends, so it’s no surprise that they’re hooking up again.”
They were spotted making out in multiple NYC parks over the weekend, and a fan caught them locking lips in Brooklyn’s Domino Park along the East River.
Only a month after, Justin and Hailey reportedly got engaged in the Bahamas!

TMZ reported the news, saying two eyewitnesses saw the engagement go down. As per the site, “Everyone was at a restaurant on the property doing salsa dancing, when Justin’s security told everyone to put their phones away, because something special was about to happen. Justin then proposed in front of everyone.”

Justin officially confirmed the engagement with a long (and I mean looooooong) Instagram post. “Was gonna wait a while to say anything but word travels fast. Listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindly.”

After Justin and Hailey went to a New York City courthouse to get their marriage license, everyone assumed that they also got married. Us Weekly then went on to confirm that Justin and Hailey got married and didn’t sign a prenup. Hailey’s uncle Alec Baldwin said they were indeed married: “They went off and got married, and I don’t know what the deal is!” Two months after obtaining their marriage license, Hailey made some cosmetic changes to her social media presence by changing her username to "Hailey Rhode Bieber."
The wedding bells rang again for Hailey and Justin more than a year after they first tied the knot at a Manhattan courthouse. This time around, they celebrated their union with a fairytale wedding at the Montage Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, South Carolina, witnessed by more than 150 friends and family.

A source told People, “It was all flawless and absolutely magical. They were thrilled to have their families and friends in South Carolina. It meant more than they imagined. Although they were already married, their religious wedding ceremony was very important. It now feels more official for them.”

While Baldwin told Vogue Arabia that the duo didn’t have plans for kids “any time soon,” in 2018, the couple took to Instagram to introduce the world to their new fur baby, Oscar. The couple graced the March 2019 cover of Vogue, and the newlyweds talked about the importance of building their relationship.

In 2019, the Biebers bought a 1930s 6,132-square-feet brick home in Beverly Hills.
In 2021, The pair attended the Met Gala during the month of their third wedding anniversary. She rocked a black YSL dress, which the singer matched with an all-black suit and white sneakers.

In 2020, Hailey took time to clarify the timeline of her and Justin’s relationship, shooting down rumors that it overlapped with his reconciliation with Selena Gomez. She told Ashley Graham on the Pretty Big Deal podcast (via E! News) that “people don’t know” she and Justin “had been talking for a while before we got back together.” She added, “Contrary to popular belief, he had been single for a while and I had been single and we were kind of just trying to figure life out.”
In 2022, during her interview on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, the Rhode founder cleared the air on whether she was dating her now hubby while he was still with Selena Gomez. Hailey said, “A lot of the hate and perpetuation comes from, like, [the idea that] ‘You stole him’. It’s about people knowing the truth because there is a truth. When him and I started hooking up, or anything of that sort, he was not in any relationship. It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship. I was raised better than that.”

Following the model’s Call Her Daddy podcast interview, where she insisted she never stole Bieber from Selena Gomez, the former Disney star had a message for fans sending hateful comments to Hailey. In a TikTok live clip, Gomez said, “I think some of the things that I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting. And it’s not fair because no one ever should be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen.”

She added, “It’s incredibly ironic that I would release something that is all about kind words because that’s exactly what I want. That’s it. If you support Rare, I cannot thank you enough but know that you are also representing what it means, and that is words matter. Truly matter.”
Hailey and Selena showed fans a united front when the two women posed together for multiple photos at the Academy of Motion Pictures second annual gala in October.

Justin and Hailey announced in May 2024 that the couple was expecting their first child together. The two shared their happy news in an Instagram post that included photos and a video of the pair, showing the Rhode founder in a curve-hugging lace dress that put her baby bump on full display. In August, the Biebers announced the arrival of their first child, a son named Jack Blues. Justin wrote on Instagram at the time, sharing an up-close photo of the baby’s tiny foot.

In 2025, rumors gained momentum that Hailey was reportedly considering divorce from Justin due to his alleged substance use, erratic behavior, and anxiety. She was also concerned about her son's safety and future.

However, amidst all these divorce rumors, the Biebers were spotted enjoying a date night. Justin then went on to post some mushy photos with his wife, putting those rumors to rest for the time being.
