The sighting: Actress Zoey Deutch was one of many sparkling celebs to attend the recent Tiffany & Co. Blue Book event. Everyone was in their finest Tiffany’s, but Deutch’s styling made her jewels stand out.
The jewels: Zoey Deutch is wearing Tiffany & Co. jewels, as one would expect for the event.
My favorite is the Bird on a Rock brooch that she’s wearing as a choker with a velvet ribbon. According to Red Carpet Fashion Awards, the brooch features 18k yellow gold, platinum, a 20-carat-plus tanzanite, diamonds, and a pink sapphire.
The actress is also wearing two cocktail rings in white metal that look like tanzanite or sapphire, and earrings that appear to involve both diamonds and blue gems.
The trends: The major trends here are the color blue and pinning brooches to velvet to make chokers!
I love a good brooch choker and I’m very interested to see if this starts popping up in greater prominence. Brooches are rumored to be big this year, so why not get creative about wearing them?
What do we think? This is really fun and glamorous. It’s hard to stand out at a jewelry-themed event where everyone is wearing the same brand’s jewelry, but I think this is a very whimsical way of styling a Bird on a Rock brooch.
The iconic status of the brooch design makes it feel extra exciting to see it styled in a new and creative way.
Judgement: 12/10 for outside-the-box brooch placement.

Richard Cortes faced the emotional challenge many jewelers know well — letting go after decades in the business. Having founded Cortes Jewelers, the decision to retire wasn't easy. "If you've done the same thing all your life, it's hard to let go," Cortes reflects. But with retirement offering opportunities to travel and enjoy life beyond the showcase, he needed a successful transition strategy. The results speak for themselves. "It all boils down to the final numbers," says Cortes. "This sale with Wilkerson was phenomenal." While acknowledging the bittersweet nature of closing his store, Cortes credits Wilkerson's expertise with making his retirement transition successful. When asked what advice he'd give fellow jewelers considering retirement, his answer is clear: "I would highly recommend Wilkerson. There's other people that do this kind of work out there, but none of them have the following and the strength of Wilkerson and Associates."
