Jesse McCartney is a dad! The singer and his wife, Katie Peterson, shared the first public photos of their new son, Archer James McCartney, on Instagram.

“Archer James McCartney took center stage on 5/7/25,” the couple captioned their joint post on June 17, 2025. “Our sweet Archie couldn’t wait to meet us and arrived a bit earlier than expected. We are so in love with him.”

Archer was born two months before Peterson’s initial due date of August 8, 2025. That due date was revealed in a joint Instagram post on February 14, 2025, where the couple shared: “Our lil Valentine…arriving 8/8 xo, JK,” signing off with their initials.

Although Archer was born prematurely, Peterson had a safe delivery, and Archer couldn’t be cuter. McCartney and Peterson shared that they will be “bringing him home very soon” to meet “his big sister Bailey,” their family dog.

Their recent Instagram post features adorable photos of their “little fighter,” swaddled in a personalized onesie with his name embroidered in blue thread. In the final photo, Archer is joined by a big teddy bear and appears to be mid-sneeze—too cute!

The couple has already fallen deeply in love with baby Archer and say they’ve had no trouble already settling into a bedtime routine. Peterson “reads him a book,” and McCartney “sings him to sleep.” What could be better than that?

Here are the baby name details for McCartney and Peterson’s little boy:

  • The are many actors with the first name James, such as James Dean, James Franco, and James Gordon. There is also basketball player LeBron James.
