IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios today dropped the first trailer and details for their upcoming James Bond title, 007 First Light.
After pumping out a trilogy of beloved Hitman titles, developer IO Interactive is shaking things (and martinis) up. Announced years ago, IO Interactive has finally dropped the first look and details for its upcoming game based on James Bond. 007 First Light is a fresh new take on Bond's origin story that's coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC in 2026.

007 First Light is a story-driven action-adventure title. In this standalone original story, players take on the role of a young James Bond, a rebellious Royal Navy air crewman who is recruited into MI6. The story will give longtime fans the chance to experience Bond's ascent from recruit to the spy we know and love.

Much like every James Bond film, First Light will take players across the globe where they'll come face-to-face with friends and enemies. Like with the recent Hitman trilogy, players will choose how they overcome obstacles and challenges whether it be brute force, stealth, or charm. Expect a game that blends third-person action and stealth together, one where you can use traditional weapons combined with gadgets to unlock unique ways to complete missions.
007 First Light marks James Bond's return to video games after more than a decade. Despite having a rich history in the industry, especially after the release of GoldenEye 007 on Nintendo 64, the 007 license hasn't seen any major game release since the critically panned 007 Legends in 2012. Given the fact that the license has produced some fantastic games over the past few decades, it's exciting to see IO Interactive bring Bond back to the world of gaming.
007 First Light launches in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. A full gameplay reveal will be released this summer.
