Jack Grealish Dedicates Goal Against Leicester City to His Late Brother

Manchester City secured a 2-0 victory over King Power heroes Leicester City in a thrilling Premier League clash played at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Citizen's left winger, Jack Grealish, gave Pep Guardiola's side an early lead in the second minute of the match.

The club's new signing, Omar Marmoush, then doubled the score in the 29th minute, strengthening their advantage.

Later, after the game, the England international took to his Instagram account to pay tribute to his late brother, Keelan, in an emotional post marking the 25th anniversary of his passing.

Grealish shared an emotional post, saying that his late brother was always with him, especially on that day, and dedicated his goal to him.

"With me always, especially this day ⭐ that was for you Keelan ❤️," Grealish posted.

As per BBC Sports, Grealish was just four years old when Keelan passed in April 2000, aged just nine months due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Speaking to Sky Sports via BBC Sports, after the match, the 29-year-old England star reflected on the anniversary of Keelan's death. He said that his brother died 25 years ago.

The England midfielder spoke about the anniversary of Keelan's death when talking to Sky Sports after the game.

Grealish admitted that the day was especially emotional for his family.

He mentioned that his parents were present at the match, making it even more meaningful for him to score and secure a victory.

"Today marks 25 years since my little brother passed away. It’s a difficult day for my family. My mum and dad were here, so scoring and winning made it even more special."

City manager Guardiola commended Grealish’s kindness, describing him as a remarkable person with a deeply generous spirit.

"I wasn’t aware of that about Keelan, and I can only imagine how difficult it must be for his mum, dad, and sister," he said. "It’s important that they honor his memory on this day, though I’m sure he is in their thoughts every single day. Scoring today makes it even more meaningful."

According to Transfermarkt, the England forward has scored only one goal and provided one assist for City this season in 17 appearances.
