Israel has announced that a ceasefire in Gaza has taken effect after Hamas provided a list of three hostages to be released on Sunday.
: After a delay in handing over the list, Hamas provided the names of three female hostages who are scheduled to be released during the day, enabling Israel to declare a ceasefire.
The ceasefire, initially scheduled for 08:30, was delayed due to the transfer of the list and was instead set to take effect at 11:15 local time.
Despite the delay, Israeli forces continued to strike targets in Gaza for two hours prior to the official announcement.
The Cabinet of Israel approved a deal with Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, for a ceasefire and the release of hostages on both sides.
