Dambai (O/R) May 22, GNA- The Islamic Education Unit (IEU) of the Oti Region has convened a consultative meeting to strengthen inclusivity at the Krachi East Municipal Assembly Hall.
The gathering brought together Juma’a Mosque Imams, community leaders, and appointed elders from various Muslim communities.
The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration, review the purpose and function of the IEU, and explore ways to enhance the quality of Islamic education in the region.
Key discussion included funding and potential sources of financial support, the role of Imams and Zongo Chiefs in supporting the IEU, and an open forum on current activities and areas of improvement.
The IEU’s initiative underscored its commitment to the spiritual and educational well-being of the Muslim community in the region.
The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to share their perspectives and work together to uplift Islamic education in the Oti Region.
The Oti Regional manager for the Islamic Education Unit (IEU), Mr. Al-hassan Zulkiphils Osman, emphasized the importance of a consultative meeting in reviewing and improving the unit’s implementation in schools.
Mr. Osman told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the meeting aimed to review existing policies and identify areas for improvement.
He mentioned some challenges hindering the delivery of quality Islamic education, and these include financial constraints, limited mobility for monitoring, low parental participation in children’s education and discipline issues among students.
By overcoming these challenges, Mr. Osman said the unit was working to encourage parental involvement, foster stakeholder’s collaboration, and improve communication among stakeholders.
