Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has warned that the United States will suffer "irreparable" harm if it enters the ongoing conflict and assists Israel militarily.

America’s main ally in the Middle East, Israel, bombed Iranian nuclear and military facilities last week, calling it a preemptive attack to stop Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Iran retaliated with missile and drone strikes on Israel, escalating the conflict between the two countries.

Trump has endorsed the Israeli operation.

The US president made a thinly veiled threat against Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Tuesday, writing on Truth Social that “we know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.”

“We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran,” the US president claimed.

The US president also demanded Tehran’s “unconditional surrender” in the conflict with Israel, which attacked Iran on Friday with the stated goal of preventing it from developing nuclear weapons. Iran has denied that it is seeking to do so, insisting that its nuclear program is purely peaceful.

Reacting in a statement posted on its X handle on Wednesday, Khamenei warned US against joining forces with Israel.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region and concerns over potential military escalation.

"The harm the US will suffer will definitely be irreparable if they enter this conflict militarily", said Khamenei.

Khamenei's comments underscore Iran's stance on foreign military intervention and highlight the potential consequences of such actions.

The Supreme Leader's warning suggests that Iran is prepared to defend itself against any perceived threats.

The situation remains volatile, with diplomatic efforts underway to prevent further escalation.

However, Khamenei's statement indicates that Iran is resolute in its position, and any military intervention by the US would likely face significant resistance.

The international community is closely monitoring the situation, aware of the potential implications of military conflict in the region. As tensions continue to simmer, diplomatic channels remain open in an effort to find a peaceful resolution.
