In a statement on Monday, the organisation said the competition is open to girls aged 15 to 20, adding that participants are to submit creative works that either highlight their contributions to community development or propose innovative ideas for positive change.

Entries are to be submitted under three main categories: Essay Writing, Visual Art, and Poetry.

The competition is open in both English and French, with sign language interpretation available across various African countries.

The organisation said the challenge will culminate in an award ceremony scheduled for October 11, 2025, in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child.

The event will reflect the global theme for the year: ‘My Role in My Community: Girls Leading Change for a Sustainable Future.’

“This initiative provides a great platform for young women to express how they are shaping their communities or how they plan to,” the organisation said.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Edidiong Idang, IPWR-A founder, expressed appreciation to the volunteers, partners, and sponsors supporting the programme.

She said they have been working behind the scenes to ensure that every girl, irrespective of disability, language, and geographic location, receives a chance to showcase their contributions to their community.
