IPPG hails Tinubu's reforms, appoints Falade as chairman designate
The Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG) announced the appointment of Mr Adegbite Falade, Group Chief Executive Officer of Aradel Holdings, as the next Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Governance Council.
The appointment, effective September 11, 2025, coincides with IPPG’s 10th anniversary celebration. The outgoing Chairman, Mr Abdulrazaq Isa, praised Falade, saying: “Mr Falade will build on our legacy and lead IPPG to greater heights.”
In his keynote address at the opening ceremony of the 2025 NOG Energy Week, Isa commended the transformative reforms in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector since President Bola Tinubu’s administration began in 2023. He highlighted the administration’s responsiveness to the industry’s reform priorities, noting that “most of the industry requests have been delivered,” an achievement he described as “unprecedented.”
Isa credited Tinubu’s leadership, particularly the strategic overhaul of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) into a commercially driven entity, led by a technically competent team, including the newly appointed Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Bashir Ojulari.
Isa emphasised that with the conclusion of International Oil Company (IOC) divestments, full implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), and new leadership, the sector is at a pivotal moment. He urged stakeholders to align with the President’s ambitious targets of three million barrels of oil and 12 billion cubic feet of gas per day by 2030. IPPG members, now holding most divested onshore and shallow water assets, are central to achieving these goals.
Isa called for structural reforms, increased investment, community engagement, infrastructure expansion, and stronger sector collaboration. “We must become catalysts for economic transformation, attract strategic investment, and operate with the highest level of social responsibility and governance,” he said.
