The excitement surrounding Coldplay's performances in Ahmedabad reached new heights on Sunday, as an IndiGo pilot turned a regular morning flight into an unforgettable prelude to the band's electrifying concert. The British rock group had just concluded their performances at Mumbai’s DY Patil Sports Stadium before heading to Gujarat for the final leg of their Music of the Spheres tour. However, what many fans didn't expect was that the magic of Coldplay would extend beyond the stadium and into the skies.

As passengers boarded a 7 AM IndiGo flight from Pune to Ahmedabad, headed to experience Coldplay live, Captain Pradeep Krishnan set the tone for the journey. Over the intercom, he humorously asked, “How many of you are going to the Coldplay concert? How many of you have two extra tickets?” His playful inquiry elicited an immediate burst of laughter and excitement from the crowd onboard.

Krishnan continued to fuel the fun by engaging passengers further. “You do? You actually do? Nice to meet you. We’re going to be very good friends today,” he responded, laughing along with the passengers. As the journey progressed, the passengers joined in a spontaneous celebration, turning on the flashlights on their phones and recreating Coldplay’s iconic “A Sky Full of Stars” moment.

“This was our own ‘sky full of stars’ moment!” one passenger shared, clearly delighted by the surprise. The atmosphere onboard was electric as passengers, some of whom were on their way to the concert, celebrated the upcoming event in the best way possible: with music and joy.

The footage, shared by Captain Krishnan on social media, quickly went viral, with over 6 million views and widespread praise. In his post, Krishnan remarked, “What an incredible group of passengers from Pune to Ahmedabad! So much energy at 7 AM—wow!” Social media users were quick to react. One user commented, “What a cool pilot! I remember telling my boyfriend right after landing for the first show in Mumbai that the pilot should’ve mentioned the Coldplay concert—it would’ve been such an epic way to kick-start the concert vibe!” Another said, “You only can pull this out… wish one day I am able to fly in your route with you!”

The heartwarming moment resonated deeply with fans, adding to the excitement surrounding Coldplay's India tour. Many users expressed admiration for Captain Krishnan, with one remarking, “The laughter says everything. They were the luckiest people.”

Coldplay’s performances at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad were the culmination of the band’s highly anticipated Music of the Spheres tour in India. Over 1.34 lakh fans gathered to witness the spectacle, a fitting conclusion to the band's Indian leg of the tour after their sold-out shows in Mumbai. Led by Chris Martin and joined by Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion, the band dazzled the crowd with mesmerizing visuals, high-energy performances, and of course, their iconic songs that had fans singing and dancing all night long.

Security at the venue was tight, with over 3,800 officers deployed, alongside the installation of 400 CCTV cameras. Ahmedabad Police JCP Neeraj Kumar Badgujar assured the public that comprehensive safety measures were in place to ensure a smooth event, saying, “Metal detectors, crime branch teams, and continuous CCTV monitoring ensured everything went smoothly.”

The IndiGo flight's passengers will certainly never forget the spontaneous celebration at 30,000 feet, and their shared experience only added to the magic of the weekend’s events.
