Indie band Danpyunsun & The Moments Ensemble has secured the most nominations at the 22nd Korean Music Awards, set to take place on Feb. 27, with six nods. K-pop girl group aespa follows closely behind with five nominations.
According to the Korean Music Awards selection committee on Friday, producer and singer-songwriter Danpyunsun (real name Park Jong-yoon) earned six nominations with "Hail to the Music," the first album from his newly formed band Danpyunsun & The Moments Ensemble, following the disbandment of Danpyunsun and The Sailors.
The album is up for Album of the Year and Best Modern Rock Album, while its tracks "Independent" and "Days Happier Than Today Will Be Few in My Remaining Life" are nominated for Song of the Year, and Best Modern Rock Song, respectively. The band is also in the running for Musician of the Year.
