IMD issues thunderstorm alert for 25 districts
Patna: More than 10 districts, including Patna, received light to moderate rainfall on Tuesday. An orange alert of thunderstorm and rainfall along with gusty winds for Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, East Champaran, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Gopalganj, Siwan, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, West Champaran, Banka, Patna, Bhojpur, Arwal, Saran, Buxar, Rohtas, Madhubani, Purnea and Katihar was issued.
The disaster management department appealed to locals to stay indoors.The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert of heavy rainfall in Kaimur and West Champaran on Wednesday. It also issued an alert of thunderstorm and lightning activity for 25. These include the north eastern and southern districts of the state.Patna is likely to receive scattered rainfall along with most of the districts on Wednesday, while the north western districts like West and East Champaran, Siwan, Saran and Gopalganj are likely to receive moderate rainfall.On Tuesday, Dehri and Bhagalpur recorded 40.2 mm and 20 mm of rainfall, respectively. Less than 1 mm of rainfall was recorded in Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Supaul, Ziradei and Bikramganj.According to the bulletin issued by the weather dept on Tuesday, no major change in the maximum and the minimum temperature across the state is expected to occur in the next four to five days.The maximum temperature is likely to range between 34-36 degrees Celsius for all the districts except the north east and south east Bihar.The highest maximum temperature of the state was recorded at 37 degrees Celsius in Gopalganj, and lowest minimum was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius in Gaya on Tuesday. Patna's maximum temperature was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius.
