I saw what John Stones and Man City fans did after Real Madrid villain earns redemption - Yahoo Sport
Manchester City beat Newcastle at the Etihad thanks to Omar Marmoush's first three goals in a City shirt.
Marmoush returned to the starting line up and earned the match ball before the half-time break - first latching onto Ederson's long ball to lob Martin Dubravka, then slamming in from the edge of the area and completing his hat-trick from Savinho's cut-back.
James McAtee joined the action late on, converting from a corner, and City climbed into the top four with a much-needed win ahead of the trip to Real Madrid.

These are the moments you might have missed from City's clash with Eddie Howe's Newcastle:
Omar Marmoush wheeled away in delight when he lobbed a delightful first goal home for City. He has waited patiently for a chance to get off the mark and has blazed over when he could had crossed moments earlier. He made no mistake this time as Kieran Trippier misjudged Ederson's long ball and Marmoush did the rest.
As Erling Haaland and co tried to catch the excited Egyptian, John Stones and Abdukodir Khusanov headed in the opposite direction - offering Ederson a pat on the back for another assist. It was his third of the season and sixth overall in the Premier League to set the record in the competition for the most by a goalkeeper.
Ederson came in for plenty of criticism for coming out late on vs Real Madrid and he needed consoling by teammates on the pitch at full time on Tuesday. A few days later and those sympathetic pats on the back were replaced by triumphant ones.
After another couple of saves to keep City's clean sheet, Ederson was far more reliable in goal this weekend and earned a standing ovation when he went to the front of the South Stand to collect a ball. Given the abuse, or criticism, he has faced in recent days, this was a satisfying comeback.
Ilkay Gundogan was another who got some applause when he went to take a corner - he ended the game with an assist and the corner that was flicked on by Erling Haaland to the foot of McAtee for the fourth. Rico Lewis looked more like himself and Abdukodir Khusanov was composed and calm - everything he wasn't on debut.
This was a day for the under-fire players to begin their redemption and the fans showed their appreciation for those who stepped up against Newcastle.
The City dressing room pay far less attention to who wears the captain's armband than the rest of us, with their six-strong leadership group designed to create consistency amid all of Guardiola's rotation. That group of six became five again when club captain Kyle Walker jumped ship last month, and there is usually one of the leaders in the team at any given point even with all of City's injuries this term.
Ilkay Gundogan returned to the group in the summer and was the highest-ranked 'captain' in the starting XI against Newcastle. John Stones is the unofficial 'extra' captain, wearing the armband in games if others have gone off. But against Newcastle, neither led the team out.
Erling Haaland did.
Haaland wore the armband in the summer with no other senior players in the USA, and has captained his country. This was his first competitive game as City captain. With a new nine-year contract signed recently, it surely won't be the last time - but the manner of this captaincy ahead of Gundogan felt a little significant.
Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake were officially missing from the matchday squad as they were 'not fully fit'. But they were fit enough to step off the team coach and walk into the Etihad, creating pre-match confusion in an ever-confusing season.
Ake went off against Madrid after an hour with Dias completing the 90 minutes, but there was no indication that either would be doubtful for this game - and the pair's arrival as normal with the squad supported that.
But when the teams were confirmed, neither were in the starting XI or on the bench, potentially being held for Real Madrid on Wednesday. Even if they were partially fit, however, surely they would be among the substitutes? Pep Guardiola has put unfit players on the bench before this season even with no intention to play them.
