I have no plan to join APC, says PDP chieftain

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for 2023 elections in Ebonyi State, Ifeanyi Odii, has dismissed reports he was contemplating a move to All Progressives Congress.
‘’I am yet to see any reason—ideological, political, or developmental—that will warrant such a decision,’’ Odii said.
He said the clarification was necessitated by ‘’public remarks’’ credited to APC Chair in the state, Stanley Emegha, that he would soon do so.
Odili said his focus ‘’remains on contributing to the growth and development of our state and nation, through platforms and processes that reflect the will and welfare of the people.’’
Noting Emegha had a ‘’right to express his opinions and promote his party, ’’ he advised him and others to refrain from speculative statements.’’
The statement on his verified Facebook page reads:’ ’My attention has been drawn to public remarks credited to the Chair of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Mr. Stanley Okoro Emegha, suggesting that I, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, is considering a move to APC.
‘’Let me state that I am not considering joining APC, now or in future.
‘’My commitment remains firmly with the ideals of purposeful leadership, people-oriented governance, and genuine democratic progress…’’
‘’These values continue to guide my actions and political engagements. I believe in building a society anchored on justice, equity, and service, not opportunism or political convenience.
‘’While I acknowledge Mr. Emegha’s right to express his opinions and promote his party, I urge political actors, especially those in leadership positions, to refrain from speculative statements that may mislead the public or distort the political landscape of Ebonyi State.
‘’I appreciate the continued support, trust, and encouragement from my numerous supporters, well-wishers, and the good people of Ebonyi State.’’
