Hyderabad: Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw urges youth to embrace AI, tech to help India become top global economy

HYDERABAD: Union minister for railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday urged students and young people to fully embrace advancements in technology and artificial intelligence within the country, as the current leadership strives to elevate India to one of the world's top two economies.Speaking to students at Keshav Memorial College in the city, alongside Union minister G Kishan Reddy, he said: "In 2014, we were ranked 11th in terms of economy. We displaced the United Kingdom, which had ruled our country for many years, as the fifth-largest economy, and now we have become the fourth-largest."The Union minister told students that India and China were the world's top two economies around 200 years ago. "Then things began to change, we declined, and now we are replacing the most advanced countries," he said.

"We have set a goal to become a major economy by 2047. Please work hard towards this, you have a world of opportunities," the Union minister emphasised.
