How I was diagnosed with cancer - Faith Morey

Published 2 days ago2 minute read

Reality TV star and model Faith Morey has revealed that she was once diagnosed with cancer — a turning point that made her reevaluate her life and legacy.

Faith made the revelation during an appearance on the Tea With Tay podcast, where she reflected on a quiet period in her life when she had stepped away from the spotlight to live on a ranch.

“We were living in a ranch, that’s why I said I’m a country girl by heart,” she began.

“And I would say transitioning, I just wanted to spend as much time as I wish I had with my kid. And when it changed for me was about 4-5 years ago when I went to the doctor and he told me that I have cancer.”

According to Faith, the diagnosis was not something she shared publicly at the time.

“Yeah, most people didn’t know about that,” she continued.

“And I remember just looking at him and all I thought about was what will people tell my child — not the day I was buried — but what will be the legacy I’ve left that my son would remember and people around him would tell him about his mum.”

She explained that at the time, she had abandoned her dreams and become complacent with the quiet life she had built away from the limelight.

“At that time, I knew I had put my dream on hold. I was no more that Faith, I was too relaxed on a ranch because I had lived and I thought that was it,” she said.

But facing a life-threatening illness pushed her to make a vow to God and to herself.

“I told God that if I go through this and I come out alive, I would never play small.”

Faith Morey rose to fame after featuring on the reality show Real Housewives of Lagos and has also built a career in modeling and fashion.

The mother of one was previously married to American man Randy Morey, with whom she has a son.
