Highlights - Passenger rights in the context of multimodal journeys - Committee on Transport and Tourism
The Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) will vote on the draft reports of two of the proposals of the Passengers Rights Package: the Enforcement/Omnibus proposal and passenger rights in the context of Multimodal journeys. Both proposals seek to improve the experience of passengers and travellers by strengthening their rights. The enforcement/omnibus proposal, aims at strengthening the enforcement mechanisms and
introduces rules for air passengers who have booked their flights through an intermediary, including on reimbursement.
The multimodal proposal addresses the current absence of EU legislation guaranteeing the rights of passengers combining different transport modes during a journey. The aim is to ensure non-discrimination between passengers with regard to transport conditions and the provision of tickets; to set minimum and accurate information to be provided to passengers in an accessible format and in a timely manner; to set passengers' rights in the event of disruption, in particular in the context of a missed connection between different transport modes.
The rapporteurs of the two files, Mr Matteo Ricci (Enforcement) and Mr Jens Gieseke (Multimodal), together with the Shadow Rapporteurs, have negotiated a comprehensive set of compromise amendments.
The vote on the draft reports will take place on Tuesday morning 24 June 2025 and it will be webstreamed..
