High Court judges begin 2025 annual vacation on July 28
The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, has announced that the court’s 2025 annual vacation will commence on Monday, July 28, and end on Tuesday, September 16. Normal court sittings are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, September 17.
This was disclosed in an official circular issued in accordance with Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019.
During the vacation period, only the Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt judicial divisions will remain operational to hear cases of extreme urgency.
To ensure continued access to justice, Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice M. S. Liman will be on duty in Abuja; Justice Deinde I. Dipeolu and Justice Musa Kakaki will serve in Lagos; while Justice P. M. Ayua and Justice A. T. Mohammed will be available in Port Harcourt.
The court, through a statement signed by its Director of Information, Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher, advised members of the public and legal practitioners to direct all urgent matters to these designated divisions during the vacation period.
