ET Online
has her fans buzzing with anticipation for her upcoming music—and she appears to be delivering in a big way. Swifties recently got a preview of what's to come when “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” was featured in a new episode of The Handmaid’s Tale.Since November 2022—when Reputation became eligible for re-recording—fans have eagerly awaited the official announcement of Reputation (Taylor’s Version), according to Variety.

The album marks the longest wait between re-recordings in Swift’s catalog. Her most recent release, 1989 (Taylor’s Version), came out in October 2023. Along with Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version), Reputation is one of the final two albums she can re-record under the terms of her former contract with Big Machine Records.

In a 2023 interview with Time, Swift reflected on the original Reputation album and its unreleased vault tracks, calling them “fire.” She described the project as “a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure,” adding, “I think a lot of people see it and they’re just like, sick snakes and strobe lights.”

Variety also notes speculation that Swift could officially unveil Reputation (Taylor’s Version) at the upcoming American Music Awards on May 26. Fueling fan theories, Swift’s official merchandise site was recently reorganized into four categories: Apparel, Music, Accessories, and Sale—spelling out "AMAs" with their initials.Originally released in November 2017, Reputation is Swift’s sixth studio album and includes chart-topping singles like “Look What You Made Me Do,” “…Ready For It?”, “End Game,” “Gorgeous,” and “Delicate.”Thanks to The Handmaid’s Tale, Taylor Swift fans were treated to the re-recorded version of “Look What You Made Me Do” (Taylor’s Version) in the latest episode of the Hulu series.

The song plays at the start of episode nine, during a powerful scene where the handmaids march in formation, preparing for an uprising led by June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss) against the Commanders, according to Billboard.

In a statement to the outlet, Moss — who stars in and executive produces the show — shared her excitement about finally incorporating a Taylor Swift track into the series.

“I’ve wanted to use a Taylor song on the show for years, and we finally found the perfect moment,” said Moss, 42. “I’m so glad we waited, because this couldn’t be a more perfect song for this point in the story. Taylor has been a huge inspiration to me personally. As a Swiftie — and I think I can speak for [co-star] Yvonne [Strahovski] and the entire cast — it’s such an honor to include her music in the final episodes.”

Moss showed her Swiftie pride last year when she attended Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Toronto with her Handmaid’s Tale co-star Bradley Whitford. His wife, Amy Landecker, shared a photo of the trio posing with Mariska Hargitay at the concert.

Swift, 35, has teased the upcoming Reputation (Taylor’s Version) era with several previews of “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” in recent projects.
