The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifon Ward 5, Ose Local Government Area, Nelson Adepoyigi, has been abducted by gunmen.

As of Tuesday, the full details surrounding the abduction remain unclear.

Confirming the kidnapping, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said, “I can confirm to you that the chairman APC Ward 5 was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo road.”

Ayanlade added, “At the receipt of the report, the DPO Ifon, in collaboration with the hunters, local Vigilantes Group of Nigeria (VGN) and Nigerian Army personnel, have launched a manhunt for the suspects.”

The police urged anyone with information that could aid the rescue operation to come forward.

Residents were advised to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
