Groupe Nduom marks World Environment Day with environmental advocacy initiative and donation at Presec staff cluster of schools
In commemoration of World Environment Day 2025, the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Committee of Groupe Nduom has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection through a meaningful community engagement initiative.
The event was held at the Presec Staff Cluster of Schools in Accra, under this year’s global theme: “Ending Global Plastic Pollution.”#BeatPlasticPollution.

This theme highlights the urgent need to reduce and eventually eliminate plastic waste due to its severe environmental and public health implications. In alignment with this cause, Groupe Nduom spearheaded a series of impactful activities with the school community, including:

Leading the team, Dr. Nana Kweku Nduom, President of Groupe Nduom Ghana, engaged the pupils on the need to recycle plastics and keep their environment clean.
He encouraged them to be ambassadors of cleanliness in the communities and presented monetary gifts to those who answered questions satisfactorily.

Mr. Moses Aryee, a Principal Programme Officer at the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), who joined the GN team in the campaign drive, urged individuals, communities and organisations to support the fight against plastic waste menace, noting that single-use plastics posed environmental threats.

Madam Jane Naki Tetteh-Aonwie, President of Women in Engineering, Ghana Institution of Engineering, commended Groupe Nduom for the initiative and called for continued collaborative efforts to address plastic wastes.
Given the large student population within the Presec Staff Cluster, Groupe Nduom is confident that these messages will have a ripple effect, reaching parents and other community members, and significantly strengthening the collective fight against plastic pollution.

As part of the initiative, the team also shared information about local recycling companies in Accra that run buy-back schemes for used plastic bottles and pure water sachets, enabling the schools to further support plastic waste reduction efforts.

Groupe Nduom remains committed to promoting sustainable environmental practices and fostering partnerships that inspire positive change across communities. We encourage the general public to Reduce, Reuse, Separate, and Recycle plastic waste. Use cloth or jute bags for shopping, because they are more sustainable.
