Asante Kotoko kept their Ghana Premier League title hopes alive with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The win reduced their gap at the top to just two points, with only one fixture remaining in the season.

The closely contested match saw both teams show resilience, but Kotoko’s victory has intensified the title race as the season draws to a close.

Bibiani Goldstars FC also made a decisive move in their quest for the championship with a dramatic 3-2 away win against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.

The match was an intense display of determination from the visitors, who edged out their opponents in a nail-biting encounter. The victory has positioned them as serious contenders for the league crown with only one game left to play.

Meanwhile, Karela United confirmed their place in next season’s Ghana Premier League after a convincing 3-0 win over Young Apostles at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

Abdul Latif opened the scoring early, and the hosts doubled their lead before halftime, adding a third in stoppage time. The result propelled Karela United to 14th place with 38 points, ensuring their survival.

In a significant development, Accra Lions were relegated following a 2-0 defeat to Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium. Second-half goals from Razak Salifu and Aziz Musibau proved decisive, marking the end of Accra Lions’ top-flight campaign.

Despite a promising first half, the Lions failed to capitalize on their chances, sealing their fate in the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Heart of Lions kept their slim title hopes alive with a 2-1 victory over Bechem United at the Kpando Sports Stadium.

FC Samartex also secured a crucial 2-1 home win against Aduana Stars, with a late decisive goal marking their sixth consecutive victory. These results set the stage for an intense final matchday, with the league title still very much up for grabs.
