In a statement issued on March 3, the Minister announced that the curfew would be enforced daily from 8 pm to 5 am, starting Monday, March 3, 2025.

He urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and the youth to exercise restraint in resolving community issues and to adopt peaceful, non-violent means in their engagements.

He stressed the importance of maintaining order and working collaboratively to achieve lasting peace in the area.

Additionally, he noted that a total ban remained in place on the possession of arms, ammunition, and offensive weapons by all individuals within Bawku and its environs.

Security agencies have been directed to enforce this ban strictly, with violators facing arrest and prosecution.

Reaffirming the government's commitment to stability, he assured residents of ongoing efforts to uphold law and order and called on all stakeholders to support peace initiatives.

Bawku Municipality has been under a curfew since November 2021, following the outbreak of a chieftaincy dispute that has led to numerous casualties.
