The story came up during a casual gathering with co-host Gidi, Massawe Japanni, and other friends, where Ghost decided to share the memorable experience.
The clip, which was shared on TikTok by Gidi, captured the humour and embarrassment of the moment perfectly.
The entertaining radio host narrated how, while still in college, he once invited his then-girlfriend out for lunch at a local eatery called Exotic, located opposite City Market, a place famous for its masala chips.
To his surprise, the girlfriend didn’t come alone; she arrived with two other ladies.
Instant panic set in as Ghost realised he only had KSh 100 on him, which, at the time, was quite a substantial amount, equivalent to about KSh 1,000 today.
However, his relief was short-lived when the ladies began ordering milkshakes, causing the bill to quickly climb to KSh 230, well over his budget.
In a humorous twist, Ghost described his reaction: folding his arms and watching the situation unfold, he made the decision to walk out without paying the bill.
“I decided to do the noble thing. I walked out and that is the last time I saw that lady,” he said, sending his friends into fits of laughter.
The story resonated with many, highlighting the pressures and awkward moments that come with young dating and financial constraints.
