Ghana Petroleum Hub Seeks GH¢300 Million to Secure Jomoro Land
CEO Dr. Toni Aubynn confirmed the funding is essential to advance Ghana’s planned Petroleum Hub project, stating unresolved compensation delays critical progress.
“Former President Akufo-Addo approved ¢200 million for compensation, but it wasn’t captured in the 2024 Budget,” Aubynn told journalists during a Parliamentary Energy Committee meeting. He emphasized urgency: “Investors are knocking but require land resolution before committing. The ¢300 million will complete acquisition.”
Aubynn reiterated the petrochemical enclave’s significance for Ghana’s energy sector and economic development, urging swift resolution of outstanding challenges. The appeal highlights ongoing infrastructure funding constraints as Ghana seeks to position Jomoro as a regional energy hub amid competitive investment landscapes.
