General Hospital's Steve Burton Tells Judge About Ex's Alleged Affair | In Touch Weekly
General Hospital star ’s court battle with his ex-wife, , turned ugly, with the soap star calling her out for an alleged extra-marital affair as they fight over custody, In Touch can exclusively report.
On March 13, Steve, 54, filed an emotional declaration, obtained by In Touch, detailing his recent back and forth with Sheree.
The two have been fighting since late last year when Steve accused Sheree of violating their divorce deal and making it hard for him to see their daughter.
He claimed Sheree moved from California to Tennessee with their kids. He said he gave up his home in California and moved to Tennessee to be near his children.
However, he said after he moved, Sheree moved back to California. At the time, he claimed Sheree had refused certain requests for their 10-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, to come spend time with him in Tennessee.
In his new filing, Steve revealed he moved back to California on March 1.

He said he made the decision to be closer to Brooklyn and share 50/50 custody. “My move back to Orange County allows me to take Brooklyn to school and pick her up during the week and enjoy weekend time with her,” Steve said.
The actor said he sent Sheree a text in January before his move and stating Brooklyn should be in his custodial more to help with the transition.
Steve said Sheree responded, “Transition? So after 3 years you decide you want to have Brooklyn more because now it’s convenient for you? It’s probably best we deal with this in court and not mediation.”
On April 29, Sheree responded to Steve’s motion to modify their custody arrangement. She said she was open to a new parenting and holiday schedule.
However, she said she wanted Steve to be ordered to stop using Brooklyn “as a messenger and that all issues” regarding parenting time be communicated directly to her and not their kid. She also asked that he be ordered to take a coparenting class.
Sheree explained Brooklyn has lived in Orange County for the majority of her life.
“Since separation, Brooklyn has lived exclusively with me,” Sheree said.
“Despite [Steve] living within miles of us and eventually one mile away from us, he rarely spent time with Brooklyn, and he never asked for any overnights with her except vacation or for holidays,” she continued. “I was and continue to be the parent who manages all her day to day activities of life.”
Sheree added, “On the other hand, [Steve] only spent one to two dinners with her per week for about an hour at a time. He occasionally took her to and from school. The only overnights he had were for holidays or vacations, until we recently agreed to an every other weekend schedule.”
Sheree said since their split, “[Steve] could have spent a great deal more time with Brooklyn had he wanted to. However, he chose not to. Therefore, any claim that I have acted as a gatekeeper is disingenuous.”

“When there has been any pushback from me regarding [Steve’s] time with Brooklyn, which is rare, it is because his requests were either made at the last minute with an expectation that we drop out plans to accommodate him or he forced Brooklyn to repeatedly travel to different time zones.”
Sheree said she has tried to work out a custody arrangement with Steve for over a year. Further, she accused Steve of harassing her when he cannot get ahold of Brooklyn.
She said, “In the past few months, [Steve] has started to message me and accuse me of parental alienation if he cannot get ahold of Brooklyn.”
She said, “His messages are almost daily and are harassing.”
In her filing, she also denied persuading Steve to move to Tennessee. Sheree said she recently started a parenting schedule with Steve where he has Brooklyn every other weekend with a mid-week dinner. She opposed his request for 50/50 time.
Steve’s lawyer, , told In Touch, “Steve maintains that Sheree’s allegations are categorically false. He has, and will continue to, act in the best interests of the parties’ daughter, Brooklyn, which includes ensuring there is frequent and continuing contact with both parents. On May 12, 2025, the Court heard the evidence loud and clear and granted Steve additional custodial time with Brooklyn that Sheree was unwilling to provide.
As In Touch previously reported, in 2022, Steve filed for divorce from Sheree after 23 years of marriage.
The exes walked down the aisle in 1999 and share three children: Makena and Jack, both adults, and Brooklyn.
The divorce came weeks after Steve announced his then-wife Sheree was pregnant, but with another man’s child.
At the time, he told fans they had been separated for some time. A settlement was reached in December 2023.
Steve and Sheree agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their minor child. Steve also agreed to pay his ex-wife $10,000 a month in child support for Brooklyn.
Sheree was not awarded spousal support, but Steve did pay her a $50,000 sum.
‘As In Touch first reported in November 2024, Steve filed court documents accusing Sheree of not following the terms of their deal.
He claimed Sheree was making it difficult for him to see Brooklyn.
He said his ex came to him in 2023 about a potential move from California to Tennessee. He said Sheree decided to move after consulting with him.
Steve said he decided to give up his lease on a home in California and kick out a tenant he had living in his Tennessee home.

“Consequently, I lost the rental income I was once receiving on my Tennessee property. I also left my job at Days of Our Lives and obtained new employment in order to accommodate my new residency,” Steve wrote.
Steve said, “I would not have moved to Tennessee and completely changed my life had it not been for Sheree’s decision to move there.”
In his filing, Steve claimed Sheree decided to move back to California after he “uprooted” his entire life. He said he continued to live in Tennessee because his son Jack preferred it there.
He accused Sheree of making it hard for him to bring Brooklyn to Tennessee. Sheree scoffed at the allegations. She said Steve’s claims about her move to Tennessee and return to California were “disingenuous.”
She told the court that Steve worked in California and had a home in California, where he could see Brooklyn. She alleged that he “rarely” spends time with his daughter when he is in town.
In response to her claims, Steve denied Sheree’s claims he rarely saw his daughter. “I am a dedicated and present father to our daughter and have seized every opportunity I can to see her,” Steve said. The actor denied using their daughter as a messenger.
Steve then accused Sheree for being the reason their marriage ended.
He said, “Sheree has seemingly forgotten how our family ended up in his situation. It was Sheree who had an extramarital affair, became pregnant with another man’s child and immediately moved him into her home after our separation, without informing me she would be doing so.”
Steve said, “The sudden change in family dynamics had to be incredibly confusing and traumatizing for Brooklyn who was only seven years old at the time.”
The actor also accused Sheree of refusing to accept his new relationship with his wife, , who he wed earlier this month.
A judge has yet to rule.
