The leadership of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Association led by the National President Abdullahi Bodejo has visited the Eselu of Iselu kingdom in Ogun State, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi.

The delegation visited the monarch in his Abuja home recently to thank him for standing by the association while Bodejo’s recent arrest and detention lasted.

Bodejo, who was arrested on December 9, 2024, and detained for several months, was released recently.

The Fulani leaders hailed Oba Akinyemi for being a detrabalised monarch and for his helpful counsel to the group, which contributed to Bodejo’s freedom.

Speaking during the visit, the Deputy National President of the association, Engr. Adamu Ibraheem thanked the monarch for his support of the group.

‘’Security forces have searched Bodejo’s home but couldn’t find anything that could incriminate him. Hence, we are happy with what you have done for us because his (Bodejo) arrest and detention were political. We are delighted that you sympathized with us, and we will still find the time to visit you again, ‘’ Ibrahim said.

Ibraheem emphasized the need for cooperation across the board to achieve peaceful co-existence between herders and rural farmers.

‘’If the government commits billions of naira to security, the security forces cannot achieve ten percent success because there is a need for information sharing with us.  In the long run, this cooperation would enable a peaceful co-existence between herders and farmers.

Responding, Oba Akinyemi said: ‘’This is our count and we don’t have any other place to call our country. Let us do our best to ensure peace and peaceful co-existence in society. Please don’t relent because it is only through peace that could allow us t enjoy this country; please don’t let us mix politics with people’s lives.

‘’ And talking about clashes between Fulani herders and farmers, I want to urge you to hold a strategic meeting for a meaningful resolution whereby there won’t be any confrontations  between herders and farmers anymore.’’
