Just a few of my favorite things that are gave me life this week:

I LOVE summer reading lists. I think I have almost as much fun looking at summer reading lists than I do actually reading the summer books! If you have no idea what I’m referring to, many bloggers or book people put together summer reading lists of the books they plan to read that summer. Here are some of my favorite ones:

Modern Mrs. Darcy Summer Reading Guide (she has a paid version and a shorter, free version)

Everyday Reading Summer Reading Guide

Sunshine and Books Summer Beach Reads

Barnes and Noble Summer Reading List

Mulberry season is upon us! We have about 4 mature mulberry trees and probably 10 smaller bushes on our property. They mulberries only ripen for about 2 weeks, so I try to do my best to harvest a little bit each day! I freeze some, but most I boil down into a syrup and use for mulberry lemonade!

Nothing can make me brake and swerve faster than a garage sale sign 🙂 I love the treasure hunt and the pride that comes with finding something perfect for us that someone else didn’t want! This weekend I know of quite a few neighborhood sales, which usually yield a high result!

For many years now, it has been our summer tradition to dye our hair a wild color. I realize that this is not a “crunchy” thing to do, but it sure is a tradition in our family and the kids have been patiently waiting for the chance to get their high highly colored!

This week has given us lots of time for get-togethers with friends, and I’m so thankful for that! One of our playdates was with new friends and they showed us a a “secret” creeking spot that is perfect for catching crawdads! We had 7 kids between us and I think they caught 70 crayfish/crawdads!

Our latest Amazon order included a whole hodgepodge of things: a volleyball, a school budgeting book, disposable popsicle bags, wooden clothespins, a kids workbook on baptism, sunflower seeds, and egg cartons. Can anyone say RANDOM? Haha. My Amazon link thingy isn’t currently working and I am also running out of time to finish this blog post, so no photos or links today. But you can use your imagination for what that order will look like!

Just a little peek into some of my favorites this past week or so! My absolute favorite, favorite is that it’s June and we had a mostly “normal” week- as normal as an entirely new life routine can be! This is the first weekend in YEARS that we will all just be at home. Yes, I did say *years*. We have had some weekends all together here and there during a vacation or when Theo called off sick, but this is the first real one where it’s just….the weekend. For our whole family. Still wrapping my head around that one!
