Of particular note was the number of applications submitted to Finland. In 2024, Finland received 17,762 visa applications from Indian citizens. Out of these, 13,878 were approved, reflecting a positive approval rate that aligns with Finland’s commitment to strengthening its ties with India. Switzerland, France, and Germany were the top three Schengen member states that granted the highest number of visas to Indian applicants in 2024. Switzerland, in particular, received a large number of visa applications from Indian nationals, processing 217,373 requests. Of these, 191,162 were approved, while 26,126 were rejected. Similarly, France processed 197,959 applications from Indian passport holders, granting 165,564 visas. Germany, another key destination for Indian travelers, received 142,955 applications and issued 126,812 visas.
