A final-year nursing student has been allegedly murdered by her boyfriend
A final-year nursing student from the Sunyani Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Kyere Gifty, has reportedly been murdered under tragic circumstances at Jinijini, a town in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region.
The 28-year-old student is said to have left campus to visit her boyfriend, identified as 23-year-old Edmond Ayomah.
However, the visit ended in a horrifying incident that has left her family and community in shock.
In a metrotvonline.com report, preliminary information says that Ayomah is the prime suspect in Gifty’s death.
The motive behind the alleged murder is yet to be established, as police investigations are currently ongoing.
In an emotional interview, Pastor Kyere Jonathan, the father of the deceased and senior pastor of the Agape Evangelical Church at Jinijini, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his daughter.
"This is a devastating blow to our family. Gifty had a bright future ahead of her. We are heartbroken," Pastor Kyere said, the report indicated.
He called on the Ghana Police Service to pursue justice with urgency and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
The Ghana Police Service has also confirmed that they are investigating the incident and are working to uncover the full circumstances surrounding Gifty’s death.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and allow due process to take its course.
