Cardiff have also offered the managerial role to Brian Barry-Murphy, currently Leicester City’s assistant manager, pending his release from his contract.

Breaking: Cardiff confirm Aaron Ramsey will leave. Option to trigger another year in his playing contract perhaps predictably not exercised.

FAVOURITES TO BECOME NEW CARDIFF MANAGER:

Des Buckingham – 8/13
Brian Barry Murphy – 6/5
Ian Evatt – 6/1
Neil Critchley – 10/1
Nathan Jones – 10/1

Wales Online report that the Bluebirds have offered their managerial position to Brian Barry-Murphy, currently assistant manager at Leicester City, but are awaiting his release from his contract.

The clubs are in talks to resolve the issue, as Cardiff aim to finalise their managerial search, impressed with Barry-Murphy’s vision and developing young talents like Alex Robertson and Rubin Colwill.

Brian is described to be a progressive coach with experience at Rochdale and Manchester City’s academy.

Despite interest from Plymouth, Barry-Murphy is keen to join Cardiff and also help develop their promising youngsters.

Leicester’s approval is needed before Cardiff can make an official announcement.

: Good appointment, can’t believe some are writing him off already. They talk about Rochdale relegation but truth is he did a miraculous job keeping them up in the two years before that. Rochdale were doomed. Really pleased with this

: This is so Cardiff City. We’ll probably end up having to pay compensation to get him out of Leicester – only for Leicester to probably sack RVN (and coaching staff) in next couple of weeks!

: Rino not gone? that’d be great if we can keep him

: I am guessing the delay was over Ramsey, glad it’s finally done, would love us to keep Rino and Ralls

: I’m cautiously excited. Will play some nice stuff and undoubtedly use our best youth prospects. Does need support coaching staff wise though. HAVE to get behind him.

: Hard not to feel positive about this. Exciting young coach, who plays attractive football, and brings youth through. The only negative is that the structures around him seem to be the same. A season in league 1 could be a good springboard for him, as he knows the league

: Good appointment. Young, progressive, the potential we have is off the charts. We are not Rochdale

: I think that’s about right to be fair. I hope Rinomhota stays, proved himself to be someone who can be relied on

: Give Rino what he wants

: Rallsy to take us back up🤌🏻

: No issues with that tbh! Just hope we tie Rino & Ralls down!

: Not being funny there is more than enough quality in that retained list to win the league comfortably

: Rambo, once a bluebird always a bluebird. Nothing else said on that matter. 💙 Goutas was a top servant for us, I wish him well. 🫡 Definitely need Rallsy and Rino to sign new deals, make that happen! 🙏🏻🐦

: Could’ve been worse, sad to see Goutas and Ramsey go, but apart from that, I don’t mind #CCFC

: I think that’s about right to be fair. I hope Rinomhota stays, proved himself to be someone who can be relied on #CardiffCity #Bluebirds

: 7 players gone, and I would expect another 5 to be sold or loaned out. #cardiffcity

: Anwar El Ghazi is definitely in my top 5 of worst city players we’ve had , he was absolutely shocker , only time he looked alive was Villa away , fuck off

: Sad to see Rambo go but I guess it’s best for best parties after the last two seasons. Hopefully Ralls and Rino sign new deals! Shout out to Goutas top bloke🇬🇷💙

: What we expected and I’m glad to see Ralls stay, brings vital experience in a young midfield. Some players on the retained list do need shipping out. Ramsey it’s been a pleasure enjoy the tacos

: Hallelujah! No issue with any of the departures! Just hope we agree something with Rino & Ralls 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Sad to see Ramsey go; it didn’t work out as well as we hoped but was a pleasure to see him play for us again!

@CF11_News: Confirmation that Aaron Ramsey departs the club. Shame it’s ended this way, never really worked out in the end. No shocks in that list
