ASIS International Lagos Chapter 206, the Lagos branch of ASIS International, announced on Saturday that it has finalised plans to host a historic gathering of Africa’s security leaders and innovators to discuss and address issues of insecurity, terrorism, cyber threats, and other security challenges affecting Sub-Saharan Africa.

The chairman of ASIS International, Lagos Chapter 206, Adedeji Oduba, told journalists in Lagos that the Sub-Saharan Africa Security Conference (SASCON) 2025 is set to become the leading event for security professionals across Africa, taking place from 22nd to 23rd July 2025 in Lagos, South West Nigeria.

He explained that the conference, organised and hosted by the ASIS International Lagos Chapter 206, will bring together the continent’s top experts in physical and industrial security, cyber-security, intelligence, law enforcement, and critical infrastructure protection.

Oduba stated that this two-day landmark conference will offer a regional platform for bold discussions, innovative solutions, and collaboration on the most urgent security issues confronting Sub-Saharan Africa.

”The 2025 theme, ‘Strategic Approaches to Security in Complex Africa,’ underscores the urgent need for adaptive, multi-dimensional solutions in the face of increasingly sophisticated threats and rapidly shifting socio-political dynamics.

“In a time when the security landscape is evolving at unprecedented speed, the Sub-Saharan Africa Security Conference will create the space for knowledge sharing, strategic partnerships, and innovation-driven dialogue that can truly shape Africa’s future,” he said.

According to him, the 2025 conference edition will feature: world-class keynote speakers from the government, the private sector, and global security agencies; panel discussions on terrorism, cyber threats, infrastructure resilience, border security, and fintech risks; and a dynamic security technology exhibition displaying emerging tools and solutions.

Oduba mentioned there will be networking opportunities with decision-makers, security experts, and solution providers across Africa.

”With delegates expected from across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Rwanda, Cameroon, and beyond, SASCON 2025 is anticipated to attract over 500 participants daily, including CEOs, CSOs, military leaders, risk consultants, government officials, and security technology innovators.

”The conference is also expected to deepen regional cooperation on security development and support the advancement of professional standards and best practices through the ASIS framework,” he said.
