Both clubs are not only located on the lake, they each offer up their own unique set of amenities including a pool on the Canadian side, lunches and dinners (not free, of course), boat slips, and waterfront patios. you don’t have to own a boat to join – there are social memberships available for anyone that simply wants to belong to a club on the water. Whether it’s for the social aspect, the boating offerings, or the waterfront amenities, this is a very special chance to temporarily join a club, with no obligations.

“My wife and I have been members of the BYC for a long time and to this day it surprises us how many people don’t know about the club,” said Howard Hain. “We like the casual atmosphere and find the downstairs bar one of the most original in WNY.  Where else can you sit a 1950’s Richardson boat bar and have a drink while watching the Miss Buffalo go down the canal?

“The club is one of the oldest in the country starting in 1860 so the history is really something to see.  The wall of Commodores photos, paintings, ship models, and trophies around the Porter clubhouse is like a walk through time. Please remember no boat is needed to use the club.  You can socialize at our downtown

“Buffalo location or take the 20 minute drive up to our Canadian facilities where you can take swim and soak pool/hot tub or warm up to a fire in the fieldstone fireplace. This is a unique opportunity as this 30 day trial membership is taking place during the summer- the best time of year to see the club.  We want people to come down to Porter Ave. and see for themselves.  No strings attached- please reach out to Membership Office to hear more about it.”
