DIGNITY is a five-member boy group composed of Minseok, Luo, Luke, On, and Hyeongjin, each bringing a unique edge to the group’s dynamic blend of charisma, performance, and sound. They first caught the public’s attention in 2023 with their appearance on JTBC’s Peak Time, showing promise even before officially stepping into the spotlight. Their official debut came the following year on July 24, 2024, with the mini album [DIGIMOTION], which introduced their powerful stage presence and set the tone for what fans could expect: artistry fueled by ambition, chemistry, and undeniable talent.
Now, DIGNITY has taken another confident step forward with the release of their first single album, [SWEET VICTORY], out June 16, 2025. In this exclusive interview, we chat with DIGNITY about the vibrant energy behind [SWEET VICTORY] and the creative process that shaped their first comeback. Hello, I’m Luo, the leader of DIGNITY! If we had to describe this comeback in one word, it would be “strength!” Since our new album [SWEET VICTORY] is based on a “voice cheerleading” concept, we really hope this song can give strength to many people.

Congratulations on the release of your first single album [SWEET VICTORY[! What message or feeling did you want to share with fans through this release?
첫 번째 싱글 앨범 [SWEET VICTORY] 발매를 축하드립니다! 이번 앨범을 통해 팬분들에게 전하고 싶었던 메시지나 감정이 있다면 무엇인가요?
[SWEET VICTORY] is an album that represents a “shared victory” with the fans who have been with us for a long time. What we wanted to convey through this album is the feeling of “we achieved this together.” I really wanted to emphasize that this moment isn’t just our accomplishment, but a result we created together with our fans.
[SWEET VICTORY]는 오랜 시간 함께 달려온 팬분들과의 ‘공동의 승리’를 의미하는 앨범이에요. 이 앨범을 통해 전하고 싶었던 건 “우리가 함께 이뤄냈다”는 감정이에요. 이 순간이 단순히 우리의 성과가 아닌 팬분들과 함께 만든 결과라는 걸 꼭 말하고 싶었습니다.

The title track, “SWEET2TH” balances both a playful and powerful energy. How did you bring that duality to life on stage and in the studio?
타이틀곡 “SWEET2TH”는 장난기와 파워풀한 에너지가 공존하는 곡입니다. 이 두 가지 매력을 무대와 녹음 과정에서 어떻게 표현하셨나요?
SWEET2TH is a song that blends playful, cheerful mischief with intense energy, so the key was to strike a balance between those two charms. While recording, I focused on expressing each lyric with facial expressions and emotion. For the playful parts, I added a bit of a smile to my voice or delivered the lines in a more conversational way. For the powerful sections, I focused on building up the energy and releasing it all in one strong burst.
“SWEET2TH”는 귀엽고 유쾌한 장난기와 강렬한 에너지가 공존하는 곡이라서, 두 가지 매력을 균형 있게 보여주는 게 가장 큰 포인트였어요. 녹음할 때는 가사 하나하나에 표정과 감정을 담으려고 노력했습니다. 장난기 있는 파트는 목소리에 살짝 웃음을 섞거나 말하듯이 표현했고, 파워풀한 부분에서는 에너지를 끌어올려서 쭉 내지르는 느낌을 내려고 노력했습니다.
On stage, I paid extra attention to my facial expressions and gestures. I used my eyes and subtle hand movements to show the playful side, and during the powerful choreography, I moved with strength to amplify the song’s tension. Syncing with the other members was also important—whether we were playfully interacting or adjusting the dynamics of our performance—so the audience could enjoy the performance even more!
무대에서는 표정과 제스처를 더 신경 썼습니다. 눈빛이나 작은 손짓으로 장난기 있는 매력을 보여주고, 파워풀한 안무에서는 힘 있게 움직이면서 곡의 텐션을 극대화하려 했어요. 멤버들과 시너지를 맞추는 것도 중요해서, 서로 장난치는 듯한 연출을 하거나 강약을 조절해서 보는 분들이 더 재미있게 느끼실 수 있도록 했습니다!
The “SWEET2TH” MV has a playful and stylized feel—can you describe the character or role you played in it?
“SWEET2TH” 뮤직비디오는 유쾌하고 스타일리시한 분위기를 담고 있는데요, 각자 어떤 캐릭터나 역할을 맡으셨는지 소개해 주세요.
From the styling to the facial expressions in the music video, I focused on capturing the sweet and charming vibe of a younger guy in love. I tried to convey a playful and fluttery atmosphere in each scene, and we put a lot of thought into the outfits and hairstyles to bring out the character’s charm. Thanks to that, I think the unique, cheerful, and sweet vibe of “SWEET2TH” came through really well!
뮤직비디오 속 스타일링부터 표정 연기까지 신경 써서 달달한 연하남 같은 느낌을 담아내려고 했어요. 각각의 장면에서 장난스럽고 설레는 분위기를 표현하려고 노력했고, 의상과 헤어 스타일도 캐릭터의 매력을 살릴 수 있도록 준비했어요. 덕분에 SWEET2TH만의 유쾌하고 달콤한 매력이 잘 담긴 것 같아요!
In the music video, I played a character like an excited puppy, running around and celebrating victory. There’s a scene where I slam a cabinet door shut in excitement and even fall down while looking at my phone after hearing the good news—those clumsy but bright and joyful moments were key to my character! My hair color was also a bright tone, kind of like a golden retriever, which made it even more fitting.
이번 뮤직비디오에서 저는 승리를 만끽하며 신나게 뛰어다니는 강아지 같은 캐릭터였어요. 기쁨에 겨워 캐비넷 문을 덥석 닫고, 승리 소식을 듣고 놀라서 휴대폰을 보다가 넘어진 장면도 있는데요, 어딘가 덤벙대지만 해맑은 에너지가 포인트였습니다! 머리색도 마침 골든 리트리버처럼 밝은 톤이라 더 찰떡이었던 것 같아요.
At first, I appear as a kind of intro fairy with a heroic vibe. I played a character who was cute, playful, and also cool, and tried to express that duality through my performance.
저는 도입부 요정으로서 등장할 때 히어로 느낌이 나는데 귀엽고 장난기 있지만, 쿨한 캐릭터를 맡아서 표현했습니다!

Which scene from the “SWEET2TH” music video was your favorite to film?
“SWEET2TH” 뮤직비디오 중에서 가장 촬영하기 즐거웠던 장면은 어떤 장면이었나요?
There was a scene in the music video where all the members were playing together. I hadn’t eaten anything since the day before the shoot, so I was really hungry. On and I had made plans to eat samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) after filming, so I got through the shoot by thinking about samgyeopsal the whole time!
뮤직비디오 장면 중에 멤버들이 다같이 노는 장면이 있었어요. 뮤비 촬영 전날부터 아무것도 먹지 않아서 굉장히 배고팠거든요. 뮤비 촬영이 끝나고 온이랑 삼겹살을 먹기로 해서, 머릿속으로 삼겹살을 생각하며 힘내서 촬영했습니다.
Can you share any behind-the-scenes stories from the music video shoot or practice room?

Our first filming location was on a futsal field. There was a scene where we lay down on the field and looked up at the sky, but except for Luo, all of us couldn’t open our eyes properly because it was so bright. That exact moment made it into the music video, and On’s expression, especially, is so funny and cute—make sure to check it out in the MV!
저희 첫 로케이션 장소가 풋살장이었어요. 풋살장에 누워서 하늘을 바라보는 씬을 찍었는데, 루오를 제외하고는 다들 눈이 부셔서 눈을 제대로 못 떴어요. 그 장면이 뮤직비디오에 그대로 나왔는데, 특히 온의 표정이 너무 웃기고 귀여우니까 뮤비에서 꼭 확인해보세요!
If you could remix “SWEET2TH” in a different genre—R&B, rock, acoustic—what would you choose?
“SWEET2TH”를 다른 장르로 리믹스할 수 있다면—예를 들면 R&B, 록, 어쿠스틱 등—어떤 장르로 바꾸고 싶으신가요?
Personally, I’d love to try remixing “SWEET2TH” in an R&B style. While the original is packed with bubbly, energetic vibes, I think an R&B version could bring out the hidden sweetness in a softer and more delicate way. If we approached it with a more laid-back rhythm and vocal-focused arrangement, it would show a completely different kind of charm.
개인적으로는 “SWEET2TH”를 R&B 스타일로 리믹스 해보고 싶어요. 원곡이 워낙 톡톡 튀는 에너지를 담고 있다면, R&B 버전은 그 안에 숨겨진 달콤함을 조금 더 부드럽고 섬세하게 표현할 수 있을 것 같거든요. 살짝 힘을 뺀 리듬과 보컬 위주로 풀어낸다면 또 다른 매력이 있을 것 같아요.
The b-side track “우린 사랑하게 될 거야” feels like a soft contrast to the title track. How did you approach this song differently?
수록곡 “우린 사랑하게 될 거야”는 타이틀곡과는 달리 부드러운 매력이 느껴지는데요, 이 곡은 어떻게 다르게 접근하셨나요?
We tried to sing it in a simple, conversational way, and just like the title, we put in the feeling of “I’m going to fall in love.”
말하듯이 담백하게 부르려고 했고, 제목처럼 사랑하게 될 거라는 감정을 담아서 불렀습니다!

This is your first comeback as a group—what did you learn during this process that was different from preparing for your debut?
이번은 그룹으로서 첫 번째 컴백인데요, 데뷔를 준비했을 때와는 달랐던 점이나 새롭게 배운 것이 있다면 무엇인가요?
Although the concept is similarly fresh and bright as our debut, it’s really fascinating and new to me how, even within the same overall theme, the direction you take can create so many different vibes. I found it especially interesting that even with the same concept, the detailed choices you make can lead to completely different outcomes.
데뷔 때와 비슷한 청량한 컨셉이지만, 큰 틀은 같아도 그 안에서 어떤 방향성을 잡느냐에 따라 다양한 느낌을 줄 수 있다는 점이 정말 신기하고 새로웠습니다. 같은 컨셉이라도 세부적으로 어떤 가지들을 뻗어 나가느냐에 따라 완전히 다른 결과물이 나올 수 있다는 사실이 특히 흥미로웠습니다.
What are you most proud of when you think about the journey from debut to now?
데뷔부터 지금까지의 여정을 돌아봤을 때, 가장 자랑스러운 순간은 언제인가요?
So many moments come to mind, but if I had to pick just one, it would be when I made eye contact with the fans on stage. Of course, I can’t forget our debut stage, but the moment when the fans truly felt that we were enjoying ourselves up there was the proudest and most overwhelming. That feeling of being sure that “my feelings are being conveyed well” is still so vivid to me.
정말 많은 순간들이 떠오르는데 그래도 딱 하나만 꼽자면 무대에서 팬분들 눈 마주쳤을 때입니다. 데뷔 무대도 물론 잊을 수 없지만, 무대 위에서 우리가 즐기고 있다는 걸 팬분들도 같이 느껴주는 그 순간이 가장 자랑스럽고 벅찼습니다. ‘내 마음이 잘 전달되고 있구나’ 확신이 들었던 그 느낌이 아직도 생생합니다.
If “SWEET2TH” were a dessert, what would it be and why?
“SWEET2TH”를 디저트로 비유한다면 어떤 디저트일까요? 그리고 그 이유는요?
If “SWEET2TH” were a dessert, I think it would be a colorful lollipop. Unlike snacks you eat all at once, it’s the kind of sweetness that lingers slowly as you savor it—something I feel this song shares. Plus, there’s the image of candy in the lyrics, so it fits even better.
“SWEET2TH”가 디저트라면 알록달록한 막대 사탕 일 것 같아요. 한 입에 바로 먹는 간식보다는, 오래도록 물고 있으면서 천천히 퍼지는 달콤함이 이 곡과의 공통점인 것 같아요. 특히 가사 안에 캔디’ 이미지도 있어서 더잘 어울리는 것같고요.

What’s one lyric from this album that you hope fans hold close to their hearts?
이번 앨범에서 팬분들이 마음에 꼭 간직해 주셨으면 하는 가사가 있다면 소개해 주세요.
I really hope everyone remembers the lyric, “The moment I first saw you, you seeped into my heart!” It perfectly expresses the excitement of that first meeting and the feelings that have continued until now, capturing the warm emotions we first felt for our fans!
저는 “처음 널 본 순간 내 맘에 스며들어” 이 가사를 꼭 기억해줬으면 좋겠습니다!첫 만남의 설렘, 그리고 지금까지 이어져온 마음들, 팬분들께 처음 느꼈던 그 따뜻한 감정을 잘 표현한 가사 거든요!
What strengths do each member bring to the group that really stood out while working on this album?
이번 앨범 작업을 하면서 각 멤버들이 보여준 강점 중, 특히 인상 깊었던 점이 있다면 어떤 것이었나요?
Luo delicately brought out the emotional lines in the vocals, adding depth to the song, while Minseok’s detailed facial expressions made watching the performance truly enjoyable. On was literally the visual centerpiece, with a presence that filled the screen impressively. Hyeongjin showed excellent control over the performance’s pacing, beautifully expressing the dynamics of the choreography. As for me, I focused on creating a cohesive atmosphere and naturally conveying emotions. I think each of our strengths came together perfectly to create a more complete “SWEET2TH.”
루오는 보컬의 감정선을 섬세하게 끌어내서 곡에 깊이를 더해줬고, 민석이는 표정 하나하나에 디테일이 살아 있어서 보는 재미를 확실히 살려줬어요. 온이는 말 그대로 비주얼 그 자체였고, 화면을 꽉 채우는 존재감이 인상적이었죠. 형진이는 퍼포먼스에서 완급 조절이 탁월해서 안무의 강약을 멋지게 표현해줬어요. 저는 그 사이에서 전체적인 분위기를 연결하고 감정을 자연스럽게 전달하는 데 집중했던 것 같아요. 각자의 장점이 잘 모여서 더 완성도 높은 ‘SWEET2TH’가 나온 것 같아요.
