Ex NBA Player Names Surprise East Team That Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo Should Join
If Giannis Antetokounmpo becomes available, almost every NBA franchise would be interested.
However, there’s only a select few teams like the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Dallas Mavericks, who can come up with massive trade packages worth Milwaukee's time.

With Damian Lillard likely missing all of next season, an aging roster, and almost no real trade assets, the future of the Milwaukee Bucks does not seem promising.

According to former All-Star center Demarcus Cousins, a breakup between Antetokounmpo and the Bucks is getting closer.
“I think this is the year,” Cousins said. “And the fact that he’s starting to slowly put out the certain type things he’s looking for with his next team. For example, like saying I don’t want to play in a state with a state tax. We’ve never heard these types of things from Giannis before so, I can definitely see a breakup on the horizon.”
The Greek Freak is now 30, he was drafted in 2013 and already led the Bucks to an NBA championship in 2021, there’s nothing left for him to prove in Wisconsin. Not every player thinks that way, but Cousins believes Antetokounmpo needs to look elsewhere.

“I think it’s time,” Cousins added. “I think Giannis and the Bucks have run their course, I think he’s given them everything he can. And I think it’s time for him to start thinking about himself and his situation, it’s time for him to be selfish with his career."
"I would love to see Giannis in Miami, I think that’s a match made in heaven," Cousins said. "I think that’s the perfect move… It makes sense, he already said he wants to play in a tax free state.”

Antetokounmpo has signed a maximum extension with Milwaukee twice with his future in question, once in 2020 and again in 2023. He’s under contract until the 2026-27 season, with a $62.8 million player option for 2027-28.
Although he is locked in contractually with the Bucks, their front office might not have a choice to deal their superstar, that’s if they care about the future after Antetokounmpo.
