The trio was nabbed at Three Hut Bar in Komarock while allegedly waiting to swindle a complainant who had outsmarted them and alerted authorities.

"The three were finally nabbed today by EACC sleuths at Three Hut bar in Komarock as they waited to pounce on a complainant who luckily had outsmarted them. A search by EACC investigators uncovered 12 mobile phones, 22 sim cards, and 8 notebooks with names and particulars of targeted victims," EACC stated.
According to EACC, the arrests follow numerous complaints from the public about individuals posing as anti-graft officials to extort money.

The Commission has urged Kenyans to remain vigilant and verify the identity of anyone claiming to be an EACC investigator.
"EACC investigators have official job cards for identification while on duty. Additionally, summonses are only issued through formal written communication, directing individuals to appear at the headquarters, regional offices, or a police station," the Commission stated.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities seek to dismantle the suspected extortion ring.
