EPL final day: Supercomputer predicts teams to finish in top five

Published 10 hours ago1 minute read

The Opta supercomputer has predicted who will make the cut on the final day of the 2024/2025 Premier League on Sunday, with three Champions League places on the line.

Champions, Liverpool and runners-up, Arsenal are already assured of their spots in the competition next season.

Tottenham Hotspur also got a ticket after beating Manchester United in the Europa League final on Wednesday.

Five teams are now left battling for three remaining places via the league placements.

Manchester City currently sit in third place and are away at Fulham.

Opta has given the former champions a huge 96.92% chance of finishing in the top five given they only realistically need to draw.

Newcastle United occupy fourth spot and victory at home to Everton will realistically be enough. They have an 82.73% chance of retaining their place in the top five.

Chelsea know a win at fellow top-five challengers Nottingham Forest will be enough for a Champions League berth due to their strong goal difference.

A draw could be enough depending on results elsewhere and they are given a 57.41% chance of achieving their European ambitions.
