Eklavya Sood joins Vivek Agnihotri's The Bengal Files, calls it a 'career-defining role' : Bollywood News - Bollywood Hungama
Eklavya Sood, who was recently seen as Harsh Nokewal in Sony LIV’s Raisinghani vs Raisinghani and has been part of indie films like Trek to Neverland and Ittar, will next be seen in The Bengal Files: Right to Life. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the historical drama is the final installment in the filmmaker’s “Files” trilogy and explores the events of the 1946 Calcutta Killings—a lesser-known yet significant chapter in India’s pre-independence history. Eklavya plays Amar, a character that represents moral conscience and quiet resistance in turbulent times.
Eklavya Sood joins Vivek Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files, calls it a ‘career-defining role’
Sharing his thoughts on the film, Eklavya said, “Being part of The Bengal Files has been one of the most enriching, meaningful, and overwhelming experiences of my career. As an actor, you’re always searching for stories that matter—ones that challenge you and resonate deeply. When I first read the script, it left a lasting impact. I couldn’t sleep that night; it dares to confront one of the darkest, most forgotten chapters of India’s history. I feel deeply honoured to bring Amar’s story to life in a film that not only educates but also stirs the conscience. It's both a responsibility and a privilege.”
Known for his detailed character work and sensitivity on screen, Eklavya has reportedly immersed himself in historical research and emotional prep to do justice to the intensity of the subject. The film features an ensemble cast including Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar, and is slated for release on September 5, 2025. With The Bengal Files, Eklavya Sood is poised to take a significant leap in narrative-driven cinema with substance and scale.
