Eid al-Adha: Foreign Affairs Minister Calls For Global Prayers, Peace And Stability
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has called on Muslim faithfuls to use the occasion of Eid al-Adha, festival to recommit to shared humanity, unity of purpose, national renewal and pray for peace and stability, both at home and abroad.
In a statement signed by Special Assistant on Media and Communications strategy, Alkasim Abdulkadir, the Minister,, extended his greetings to the Muslim Ummah.
He said the festival is marked by reflection, sacrifice, and renewed faith in the Almighty.
Ambassador Tuggar further called for prayers for all troubled regions of the world, including Gaza, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, where innocent lives continue to be affected by violence and conflict.

At home, the Foreign Affairs Minister expressed solidarity with internally displaced persons (IDPs) across the country and prayed for lasting relief and restoration of their dignity.
He also extended deep condolences to the people of Mokwa, Niger State, following the devastating floods of May 28, which led to loss of lives and destruction of property.
He added that there was need Nigerians support humanitarian efforts and stand in unity with the affected families.
“This festive season is also a moment to acknowledge the sacrifice and courage of Nigeria’s frontline officers who continue to work for the peace and security of the nation. Their service and dedication remain an inspiration to all”.
Ambassador Tuggar reaffirmed his commitment to advancing Nigeria’s interests globally through principled and proactive diplomacy.
He urged all to draw strength from the message of the sacred festival, and recommit to shared humanity, unity of purpose, and national renewal.
