Adeboye is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

The much-anticipated meeting at the Nigeria Police Force Investigation Department (FID) regarding the alleged cyberstalking case involving prominent religious leader Pastor E.A. Adeboye and popular TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo, known as Seaking, has been postponed.

Adeboye is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

The delay comes as a result of ongoing labour strikes, which have caused disruptions to air travel.

A new date for the meeting has yet to be announced, and it is expected to be rescheduled once flight disruptions are resolved.

The delay also affects a protest initially planned for today (Friday) concerning the case.

The postponement was confirmed by human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, who made the announcement on his social media platform X on Friday.

“The scheduled meeting at the Nigeria Police Force Investigation Department (FID) regarding the alleged cyberstalking case involving PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE and TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo SEAKING has been postponed due to labour strikes causing flight disruptions, with a new date to be announced shortly, and this applies as well to a protest initially planned for today. #RepealTheCyberCrimeAct #EgbetokunMustGo #UntilWeWin #RevolutionNow,” Sowore wrote on X.

Saharareporters previously reported that Sowore had announced the postponement of the #EgbetokunMustGo protest, which was initially scheduled for Monday, April 21, 2025.

The demonstration, which was initially postponed to Friday, April 25, 2025, is to demand the removal or resignation of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

The protest follows President Bola Tinubu’s controversial decision to extend Egbetokun’s tenure beyond his official retirement age. Egbetokun, originally due to retire in September 2024, will remain in office until 2027.

The initial rescheduling came amid reports of an alleged plan by the police to detain the popular TikToker under the pretext of a postponed meeting regarding remarks he made about Pastor Adeboye of the RCCG.

Sowore, who was Seaking's surety, revealed that the police meeting, initially set for April 21, had also been moved to April 25.

“The @PoliceNG has postponed the meeting between me — standing surety for tiktoker @seaking303 — and their team over his comments on @PastorEAAdeboye of @rccghq,” Sowore had posted.

“Considering that Monday is a public holiday for Easter Monday, we've agreed with the @PoliceNG to postpone action until Friday.”

The controversy began after @seaking303, a TikToker with a sizable following, allegedly made critical remarks about Pastor Adeboye.

The police had invited him for questioning, and Sowore, acting as surety, has been involved in subsequent meetings.
