The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, has called on Muslims across Nigeria to reflect the virtues of love, sacrifice, truth, and integrity, attributes of Allah, as they celebrate this year’s Eid al-Adha.

Olukoyede made the call in Abuja on Thursday night, in a goodwill message to commemorate the Salah festivities.

He urged the faithful to use the occasion not only for celebration but also for sober reflection on the nation’s collective responsibility to eradicate corruption.

“As we celebrate Eid al-Adha, let’s keep our focus keener on tackling corrupt practices in our land. We have all it takes to confront and conquer financial and economic crimes. Nigeria is awaiting our collective efforts to make her the greatest nation on earth,” he said.

He emphasised that fighting corruption remains a national imperative that requires everyone’s commitment, adding that progress would only be possible through sincere and sustained efforts toward national development.

The EFCC chairman also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for what he described as strong political will and an enabling environment in support of the Commission’s mandate.

“We owe the President this obligation of appreciating him. Without a political will, we cannot tackle corruption effectively,” Olukoyede stated.

He urged Muslims to reflect deeply on impactful ways to contribute to Nigeria’s progress, noting that meaningful change is only possible through consistent integrity and patriotic initiatives.
