Her move to run for Nebbi Woman MP has drawn mixed views from leaders and supporters. She will face the sitting MP Agnes Acibu, who is also from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

She is not the only NRM-leaning candidate to challenge a party colleague.

For example, Betty Amongi, Oyam South MP and Minister of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, will run for Lira City Woman MP against Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng.

Also, Gaffa Mbwatekamwa, Igara West MP, will try to become Mbarara City Mayor, up against Robert Mugabe Kakyebezi, known as Etaara.
