NATIONAL U has just pulled off a heist of its own, getting former Gilas Pilipinas Youth guard Dwyne Miranda out of his initial commitment to Far Eastern University.

Bulldogs head coach Jeff Napa confirmed Miranda's move to SPIN.ph on Saturday, right after he and his wards barged into the win column in the 2025 Playtime Cares Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup.

The 5-foot-11 guard had already committed to the Tamaraws back in 2024, following his final year of eligibility for the Baby Tams when he averaged 10.6 points, 4.8 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 26 minutes. He then wrapped up his high school career with Mapua in the NCAA juniors, norming 8.0 markers, 4.6 dimes, and 3.8 boards in 24 minutes.

The 20 year old was supposed to return to the green-and-gold, where his father Denok serves as basketball program director at present. Instead, he will join the Bulldogs' already stacked backcourt featuring fellow former blue-chip recruits Steve Nash Enriquez, Reinhard Jumamoy, and Tebol Garcia.

The younger Miranda will be good to go come UAAP Season 88 and have full five years of eligibility.

NU is coming off its worst season under Napa, going 5-9 a year ago, but heads into the new year still led by Jake Figueroa and Jolo Manansala. It also just welcomed ex-Bullpups big Migs Palanca.
