DVLA begins 24-hour service at Tema and Takoradi Ports
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has commenced a 24-hour service at the Tema and Takoradi Ports as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery.
According to the Authority, the new round-the-clock service, effective from Thursday, July 3, 2025, is focused on the issuance of Drive from Port (DP) Number Plates as well as the registration of construction and farming equipment, including excavators.
“This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to improve efficiency and effectiveness in our operations,” the DVLA noted in a public statement. The move is expected to bring greater convenience and flexibility to clients, especially those with demanding schedules who prefer conducting transactions outside normal working hours.
The DVLA assured the public of its continued commitment to delivering top-notch services, describing the extended hours as a “testament to our dedication to excellence.” Clients are encouraged to take full advantage of the enhanced service now available at both ports.
Meanwhile, the Authority is advising members of the public to use only authorised DVLA channels to avoid receiving unapproved DP Number Plates or fake documentation.
