Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has appointed Former Tana River Governor Hussein Dado as the Chairperson of the Public Service Superannuation Fund Board of Trustees.

In an official Gazette Notice dated July 4, Mbadi revealed that the former governor would hold the position for the next three years, effective immediately.

''In Exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 (1) (a) of the Public Service Superannuation Scheme Act, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning appoints Hussein Dado,'' the notice read in part.

Hussein Dado served as the Governor of Tana River County from 2013 to 2017. He was the county’s first governor following the establishment of devolved governments under Kenya’s 2010 Constitution

In the changes, the treasury CS revoked the appointment of Susan Mambo, who had been appointed to the position of member of the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board.

While Mbadi did not reveal the reason for the revocation, he announced that Mambo ceased to hold the position on July 4.

In the same changes, Investment and Trade CS Lee Kinyanjui appointed Consolata Rop to be a member of the National Standards Council. Rop will be in the position for the next three years, effective July 4, 2025.

Another CS who made changes to his Ministry is Education CS Julius Migos, who appointed Henry Anyona as a member of the board of the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation.

Anyona is replacing Rop, whose appointment in the position was revoked after she landed the National Standards Council member position.

''In Exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (e) of the State Corporations Act, paragraph 26 of the Memorandum and Articles of the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Education, appoints Henry Anyona,'' the notice read.

''The appointment will run for three years, with effect from July 4. The appointment of Consolata Rop is revoked,'' the notice continued.

The appointments by the CSs are part of a wider initiative to improve service delivery and tackle emerging challenges.
