Crypto Market Echoes 2017; Which Altcoin Will Lead the Rally?

As Bitcoin leads a fresh market rally, one crypto analyst has identified strong similarities between today’s market conditions and those that preceded Bitcoin’s historic 23x price surge in 2017.
In his latest podcast, the analyst noted that while he doesn’t expect a direct repeat for Bitcoin itself, he believes the stage is set for a “sensational” bull run and for a new altcoin to deliver life-changing gains.
The crypto analyst’s observations align with the dominant sentiment across the crypto community. Although most crypto investors do not expect Bitcoin to rally another 23x in 2025, they believe the flagship cryptocurrency is gearing up for something significant under current market conditions.
Besides Bitcoin, many crypto users foresee a situation where another cryptocurrency could replicate the flagship crypto’s 2017 behavior.
Notably, Solana and Sui were the most notable performers in the recent bull runs. Both digital assets surged significantly, returned massive profits, and launched themselves into the top echelon of cryptocurrencies. SOL rallied over 1,100% within its first year of existence and repeated the trend in 2024 while achieving a $295 all-time high.
Sui’s performance in 2024 was also exceptional, as the then-newbie cryptocurrency embarked on a notable rally that returned a profit of over 1,000%. Both cryptocurrencies returned the energy of 2017 Bitcoin to the market while boosting the ecosystem’s volatility.
According to the analyst, almost every notable indicator has aligned with a potential crypto market rally. Even though he may not expect another 23x performance from Bitcoin, all things point toward a significant bull run that could see the pioneer cryptocurrency surge. More crucially, it could be the season for another crypto asset to take the stage, just like Solana and Sui in the past few years.
