As the inaugural bank holiday weekend of 2025 approaches, Cork Airport is preparing to welcome approximately 33,000 passengers during the St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday Weekend.

This figure represents a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2024, indicating a robust start to the year for the airport.

The St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday, observed on the first Monday of February, offers travelers from the South of Ireland an ideal opportunity to escape the winter chill.

There is notable demand for flights to sunnier destinations, particularly southern Spain, Portugal, and the Canary Islands.

Additionally, ski enthusiasts are capitalizing on direct connections to Munich, Lyon, and Salzburg.

Cork Airport is also pleased to welcome numerous visitors from across Europe who are traveling to Ireland for the increasingly popular St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday Weekend.

This weekend features events throughout the South of Ireland celebrating one of Ireland’s patron saints, known for her compassion and miracles.

Looking ahead to a busy weekend, Niall MacCarthy, Managing Director at Cork Airport, stated:

“At this time of year, with the dark evenings and inclement weather, many of us start planning our next sun break.

In addition to the wide selection of routes to choose from already, this summer, passengers can also look forward to five new and exciting routes from Cork Airport to Bilbao, Bordeaux, Izmir, Corfu, and Dalaman.

We invite people to experience the ease, convenience, and friendliness of Cork Airport as you count down the days to your next ‘get away from it all’ break.

We also look forward to an early influx of visitors into the region this weekend.”

The airport’s management is thrilled to commence 2025 with such positive momentum and looks forward to welcoming all passengers during the St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday Weekend.
