Concerns Rise Over Kofi Adomah's Condition Following Dormaahene's Remarks

Ghanaian journalist Afia Pokuaa, also known as Vim Lady, has shared a concerning update regarding the health and well-being of her colleague, Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii. Adomah has been struggling with a severe eye injury sustained earlier this year, and Pokuaa's recent Facebook post reveals the depth of his distress.
According to Pokuaa's post on March 22, 2025, Adomah has been experiencing suicidal thoughts since the previous Friday night. This stems from comments made by Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, who reportedly described Adomah's injury and subsequent struggles as "propaganda." Pokuaa's post directly addresses the Dormaahene, stating, "Kofi Adomah has become suicidal since last night after hearing you describe his shooting as PROPAGANDA."
Pokuaa, who is currently in the United States, has been in constant contact with Adomah, attempting to provide support and calm him. She highlights the severity of Adomah's pain and the frantic efforts of his family to secure emergency medication. "I had to stay on the phone with him throughout the night and this morning to calm him down," she wrote. "He is so broken and currently in excruciating PAIN that family members are now roaming the streets of Tema and Accra to get emergency drugs for him as we speak, or else there will be a crisis. How can seven surgeries be PROPAGANDA?"
The journalist further disclosed that Adomah is facing potential blindness and is scheduled for an eighth surgery. She pleaded with the Dormaahene to reconsider his stance and offer an apology to Adomah before the situation worsens. "…your son is GOING BLIND, your son ohh! He has to be FLOWN OUTSIDE in the next few weeks for the 8th SURGERY," Pokuaa emphasized. "We beg you, God forbid, but Nana, please, please don’t wait for…"
Kofi Adomah's ordeal began on January 15, 2025, while he was covering the Kwafie Festival and the 25th anniversary of the Dormaahene’s enstoolment in Dormaa Ahenkro, Bono Region. Initial reports suggested the eye injury was caused by gunpowder residue or pellets from a traditional musketry display. However, Adomah's wife, Miracle Adomah, later clarified that he was deliberately shot in the face by an individual. This attack resulted in partial vision loss in one eye, necessitating multiple surgeries in Dubai.
Adomah's recovery process has been ongoing, with support from donations and a GoFundMe campaign aimed at raising €50,000. Amidst these efforts, the Dormaahene's recent comments have sparked outrage. While he had previously remained silent on the matter, he recently stated that Adomah was being used as a "propaganda machine" by unnamed parties.
The situation remains tense, with Afia Pokuaa's public plea highlighting the urgent need for support and understanding for Kofi Adomah during this difficult time.
